Vintage and retro, that’s what everybody is talking about on the web these days! I love to go rummaging around in vintage markets such as the Montagnola in Bologna or Portobello Road in London. Perhaps this year, with my leather jackets and bags “stolen from my grandma”, I’ll be trendy!

 Karl Lagerfeld is setting trends based on the Chanel icon database. Everywhere you go, you see double Cs, pearls and bouclé women suits.
Emerging brands are inspired by the 50s or the Sex Pistols’ punk wave and are showing innovative, but not impossible, women’s wear.

A fashion tip for next season’s accessories: I’ve found cute bags with change purses in contrasting colours attached inside. They’re perfect for people like me, who can never find coins for the bus!

Underwear has gone fairytale, according to Liza Z Morgan and Melania Propert.They’re so full of bows, flowers, ruffles and ballet tutus that you feel like you’re in Barbie Rapunzel’s closet!

There’s actually a Vintage Expo in Santa Monica, California this weekend.  And make a note in your agenda for March 2009, as there will be another one in San Francisco. You have plenty of time to plan to be at that one!
