The Nineties
The nineties will never be forgotten thanks to all the important historical events that changed Europe in that decade, including the reunification of East and West Germany and the Maastricht treaty, which ratified the creation of the European Union.
Several important Mandarina collections were launched in that decade, including MD20 and Work, the business and travel line, which, thanks to several restylings are both still in vogue.
Mandarina Duck received important awards and acknowledgements for its many years of passionate hard work. According to a Demoskopea survey in 1996, Utility was chosen as a cultural icon along with Levi jeans, the Coca Cola bottle and the Fiat 500, to name a few.
Mandarina also received awards for design, including the Meryl Award for Creativity and Innovation in 1997 and 1998 and the prestigious Top Design of the Year in 1998. In that same year, Mandarina’s advertising was selected by Eurobest as the best campaign in Europe and one year later Mandarina won first place in fashion at Epica, one of the main European advertising shows.
So, it must be true that you reap what you sow!
