Shopping at a click
These days, the window-shopping has become a “mission impossible”.
You have to choose between the tropical climate on the city streets or the Antarctic temperatures in the malls.
There’s no in-between! That’s why online shopping is a real alternative.
And you can do it comfortably from your own home.
By pure luck, I found the Virtuy Mall website.
It’s a virtual shopping centre where everything is in 3-D. I’ve read that it’s the first of its kind in the entire world!
I was so curious that I clicked on the virtual map and entered a few stores. I found a myriad of things, even ultrasound rattraps and fermented papaya! I even found a record player, which is great because I still have some LPs I’d love to listen to!
Of course, you’ll need a very powerful PC to download the software and it does take a long time. Apart from this, it’s a very interesting experience.
It seems as if you can really touch the products.
Right now, it lacks a social aspect; you can’t meet any people. But soon there will be a community where you can share opinions, suggestions and product satisfaction rates.
While waiting for the community to get started, I can comfort myself on Pret a Porter Portobello.
Since I’m not planning to go to London in the near future, I can get a dose of Britain in this virtual flea market and choose from a wide range of vintage clothing and new designer products.
I’ve discovered that the prices are politically correct and you can haggle as if you were in a real market.
You can find real bargains in the “Let’s trade” section, where there are garments from samples with no price tag!
So, while waiting for the heatwave to break, online shopping is a great consolation!
