Blogging around exhibitions: the Metropolitan Museum is online
Constantly looking for low-cost flights to NYC and intense weekends in the USA. These are certainly the causes of chronic jet lag. Well, I say enough!
Now you can see exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York comfortably and directly from your computer at home!
The first Metropolitan blog was launched in December 2007 by the outstanding blogger, Manolo Blahnik.
The Stiletto King (who created Carrie’s Mary Janes in Sex and the City) strikes again!
He offers 65 online images of 18th-century garments (that can also be seen in person) that he has chosen from the 30,000 items belonging to the Metropolitan’s Costume Institute.
Next to 18th-century French silks and 19th-century American cottons, Manolo has put the latest creations from great fashion houses such as Nina Ricci, Dior and Chanel.
The big news is that the world’s most beloved shoe designer will answer surfers’ questions online and in real time until 13 April 2008.
I certainly won’t miss this opportunity to talk with a living legend!
Of course, Manolo didn’t need this type of exposure to be enshrined in fashion history.
His unique, super sexy shoes were already enough!
