Colours on the move
I went along with our Visual Merchandiser to prepare a display for our store in Bologna.
We consider our sales points to be an important means of communicating MD values. They are the places where you can enter into our world and live our life. This is why we invent something new for every sales campaign.
Preparing a display is actually more complex than it appears to be. Firstly, with the support of the Marketing department, we have to choose a focal point: our travel lines, women in general, spring time, or the new collection itself.
Our Communication department and our advertising agency brainstorm together a myriad of ideas, including overall concepts, possible materials, humorous slogans and innovative displays.
They must keep in mind that the final concept will be displayed in every Mandarina monobrand store, regardless of its size and that it must be easy to set up. As well, Andrea, our Visual Merchandising Manager, cannot visit every Mandarina Duck sales point in the world for every campaign, it would be physically impossible!
In the end, they always come up with the right idea. A travel display: transparent cellophane rolls, like the ones used at airports as protective wrap for protect for luggage, but ours are in color!

I love Mandarina Duck and I buy them when I am in Europe but why don’t you have any stores in the US? There are small stores that carry only a handful of your stuff but the really nice ones are not available. Please, please open a store in the USA!

I loved reading your blog. I am also a major fan of the Mandarina Duck line. Luckily, I have been able to pick up some great selections over the years at T.J. Maxx in the United States. Whenever I find the bags, I buy them in bulk! I noticed your e-store is opening soon and I anxiously anticipate shopping online for Duck bags. When is the live date for the site?
