Mandarina duck flies eastwards: new shop in Bucharest

June 24th, 2008 - posted by ManuManu

In early April of this year, Mandarina Duck flew eastwards and landed in Bucharest.

About a month ago, a new Mandarina Duck store opened in the Beneasa Shopping Mall near the international airport, which has already become the number one shopping centre in the capital.

The Mandarina store, designed by Angelo Micheli based on “new concepts“, has already hosted a national press conference and introduced many new clients to the world of Mandarina.

Mandarina’s successful work with the “Fashion Retail Group” has determined new locations for boutiques both in the capital city of Romania and across the country.

Mission KL: Mandarina arrives in Malaysia

January 25th, 2008 - posted by Ducky

Mandarina Duck shop in Kuala LumpurKuala Lumpur, “KL” to friends, has just welcomed a Mandarina Duck store.
It’s hosted in the Pavilion, a mall in the heart of this electrified, multi-ethnic capital city of Malaysia, which is both rooted in traditions and looking to the future.
Traveling on the monorail makes you feel as if it’s the year 2050. The mix of mirrors, ultra-modern architecture and deco or colonial buildings makes the city look like any western metropolis, except for the frangipane flowers, tamaka and palm trees that line the streets.
Nature is a fully recognized citizen of this city. The tropical forest and KL are inseparable.

Petronas Towers - Kuala LumpurThe Petronas Towers are the symbol of the city. You’ve probably seen them in the adventure scenes of Entrapment  with Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones. The 452-meter towers are very imposing and are now the second tallest building in the world. The ride up is free but you’ll have to line up at 8 am, if you want to get one of the 500 tickets that are available daily. For experts in meditation only!

On the Silk Road: Arrival in New Delhi

Is Mandarina Duck now seeking Nirvana?
One thing is sure; it has crossed Asian borders, arrived in New Delhi, the capital city of India, and opened up a new Mandarina Duck store in the Select Citywalk mall.

Delhi view from Jama MasjidThis city of Gandhian democracy is 3,000 years old and yet looks modern. Especially considering that it is second only to the USA with regards to new information technologies. And despite the fact that it is the fulcrum of the “Golden Triangle”.

Our online shop has just arrived in Europe

November 6th, 2007 - posted by Alessandro Leoni

Mandarina Duck shop onlineAlthough we’re a bit late with respect to the launch (8 October), I’m thrilled to announce that we have finally integrated the US and European e-commerce platforms.

It’s been a massive operation and we did it in 20 days after a full year of previous hard work. In fact, we’re exhausted. To help you understand the vast amount of work done, here’s some data:

-  two and half months of development;
- launched on American market on 1 July;
- available in five languages;
- more than 1,000 references managed;
- twenty-seven litres of coffee drunk.

Panama, inside the hat

PanamaPanama: the location of the latest Mandarina Duck store.

It’s the economic and business crossroads of American. It’s a magical kingdom where you can find anything. Its skyline stands against luxuriant tropical overgrowth. You can come across farmers on oxcarts passing by ultra-modern banks. Amongst its extinct volcanoes, rise 365 atolls (one per day ). Its beaches are no less than those of the Caribbean and the Maldives.

It might be a rare species of endangered, migratory water bird that can only be found in Yellowstone National Park but I’m actually talking about a particular duck that is in excellent health.

You can find it in a variety of places - from Bologna to Edmonton, from South America to the Emirates, from Korea to Hungary - and you’ll always recognize it because its distinctive traits have remained the same. It’s the duck of the Mandarina Duck chain.

Thanks to its wanderlust, the Mandarina Duck has adjusted to various habitats. Nowadays it can be found in 70 worldwide mono-brand stores (50 in Italy), in 1,000 worldwide multi-brand stores or in the corners of department stores in major cities, such as Milan or New York, all of which have a similar microclimate despite their different longitudes.
From London, in Harvey Nichols, to Paris, in Les Galéries Lafayette, to Madrid, in El Corte Inglès, the duck blends in with many metropolitan cultures and never loses its identity.

Have you seen the duck yet?

A duck amongst the pyramids in Dubai

Shop Mandarina Duck in the Wafi City MallMandarina Duck has conquered the Pyramids. Look out though! We’re not in Egypt but in the Wafi Mall; one of Dubai’s luxury leisure and shopping kingdoms, where a new mono-brand store has just opened.

If you’re not a millionaire but want to live in luxury, I suggest staying at the (not inexpensive) Raffles Dubai Hotel, which, of course, is a pyramid!

Wafi City MallA typical day in Dubai includes some serious shopping in the frenzied international stores. Make sure that you get an advantage card, with which you might even win a free flight!

Edmonton, shopping of course!

July 31st, 2007 - posted by Ducky

New Mandarina Duck shop in EdmontonLast month Mandarina opened a new monobrand store in Edmonton, the capital city of Alberta and Canada’s cultural capital for the year 2007. History and culture play important roles in the arts and lifestyle of this city. You’ll be overwhelmed by all the activity of this year’s “Festival City“. Its extensive cultural and artistic programme will definitely be very interesting but certainly not relaxing.

Edmonton SkylineSo, if too much culture stresses you out, then try some shopping therapy at the West Edmonton Mall, where my colleague Andrea got to meet Patrick Swayze! It’s one of the largest shopping and leisure centers in the world. A modern Babylon, where you can shop till you drop amongst 800 stores and more than 100 bars and restaurants.
