June in Venice

The 52nd International Art Exhibition opens to the public on 10 June. It’s a tour of 77 nations through their contemporary art.
The exhibition title is very thought provoking: “Think with the Senses – Feel with the Mind. Art in the Present Tense”. Robert Storr, the first ever American Biennale curator, in his introductory thoughts on the 52nd edition, he said, “Art is now, as it has always been, the means by which humans are made aware of the whole of their being”.
Wandering art lovers can click on this Grand Tour 2007 and organize a trip around Europe following the various openings associated with the 52nd International Art Exhibition; Art 38 Basel; Documenta 12; and Skulptur Projekte Münster 07 .

From 14 to 17 June, Parco San Giuliano in Venice will host the 10th Edition of the Heineken Jammin’ Festival, a now famous rock music festival with a wide appeal.
I was at the show in Imola in 2005, and I was almost moved to tears when Vasco Rossi closed the concert and all 120,000 people in the audience waved their lighters together creating a very magical atmosphere.
This year’s line up includes Iron Maiden, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins and Aerosmith! I have to find a way to be there!
