Backstage at Fall/Winter 08-09: unofficial previews
Amongst the numerous emails waiting for me when I got back was a fantastic surprise. The backstage pictures of the upcoming Mandarina Duck Fall/Winter collection. The shots were “stolen” from the set with a cell phone. Even though the material is “unofficial”, it has captured the positive, ironic and original atmosphere.
The new Mandarina bags depict imaginary landscapes reminiscent of the neo-sixties or psychedelic cartoons. The geometric wedges, mountains, water pools and stylized flowers have been created by Kustaa Saksi, a famous illustrator in the music and fashion fields (MTV, New York Times and Guerlain are some of his clients).
Now, we just have to wait for the “real” images by Bruno van Mossevele, the Belgian photographer who shot this advertising campaign.
