Mini Bags at the starting line

March 27th, 2008 - posted by Ducky

After hearing a lot of talk about the Mini and Finduck project, the results are now entering the market.

This spring, the Mini style is on the move again with the Mini Bags line, after debuting in tandem at the Rome Film Festival and the Pitti Uomo show in Florence in October 2007.

First to come out will be the colorful small tote (part of the Car Profile line) and the Mini Lounge. Then in April, the Luggage range will exit with two unisex lines, Go Fast! and Check Out, inspired by the Mini’s glam profile.

Sweet tooth fashion

March 18th, 2008 - posted by Ducky

apresmidi_anelli_pasticcini.jpgIt’s spring time! I need some sunshine, colors and fruit.
So, today I went wandering on the web. And during my lunch break, I discovered the Suicidal Shop.
It’s not a do-way-with-yourself shop but an anti-depression boutique for people with a sweet tooth. I had a great binge on caramel-flavored lip balms, cream rings and cookie necklaces! (without any side effects!)

Mandarina & the Arts: search for art

March 14th, 2008 - posted by Ducky

While I was in the marketing office today, I looked through Search, a magazine on works by architects, designers and emerging artists.
It has a very modern look even though it belongs to Search for Art published by Mandarina Duck, which won the “most innovative project” award in the Guggenheim Enterprise and Culture Awards of 2000!

Digging into an old database, I found a broom-shaped egg holder, a sheep-shaped backpack, a carpet-bed, images from metropolitan streets and colorful mural paintings.

“Do-good” fashion

March 6th, 2008 - posted by Ducky

Spring is coming and our wardrobe needs the usual revival.
This season, however, there’s a good remedy for that guilty feeling that comes with overspending: charitable shopping.

As you know, fashion is a fun and enjoyable thing! Especially when it does the right thing!

After last season’s success - the Free Burma Bag and Levi’s World Aids Day t-shirt - there are a lot of new things!

Three charitable brands debuted during Milan Fashion Week: V.A. Studio, Opera 27 and Dog 58. Part of their sales proceeds will go to Escola Estrela do Mar in Brazil.

Protect the skin you’re in - Marc JacobsIf you want to do good and not go broke, you can just buy a t-shirt.
Many celebrities have lent their images to Marc Jacobs’ “Protect the skin you’re in” campaign in support of skin cancer prevention.

Advertising Arts: Mona Lisa beats out showgirls

March 4th, 2008 - posted by Ducky

We know that advertising is considered an art.
But art flirting with advertising is really something new.

Advertisers are fed up with the usual famous people. So, they’ve called on some exceptional figures who don’t need any restorations (well, very few!) to be trendy and beautiful.

David_jeansDavid Beckham and Naomi Campbell?
In their place, we now see Michelangelo’s David wearing jeans, the Venus de Milo wearing sunglasses and Leonardo’s Mona Lisa with curly hair.
We have to admit it: Greek statues are better looking than football-players and people prefer Mona Lisa to showgirls.
